Tina's Training Tips
One of the most valuable tools to keep
you motivated is to plan a program and write it on your daily
calender. Follow this up by noting if you actually did the
work out, and if you didn't, why not.
Soon a pattern will emerge and you can then make informed changes. If all is
going well, no changes are required except to challenge yourself to do more!
I have have often written and talked about the "buddy" system. Training
alone has great "mental" value. It strengthens your resolve not only
in sports but in other facets of your life. Be sure to train in a safe environment
when going out alone.

Nutritional Tip of the Month
From Maple Lodge Farms
"Man does not live by bread alone"... I don’t
know who said that first. The growing season is upon us and I can’t stress
enough the value of fresh, organic produce straight form the garden. Why not
visit your local farmer’s market? This is another great stress release
and a wonderful outing for the entire family.
Some high power carbohydrate foods to consider could be: fruit juices, lentils,
yams, rice and pastas topped with vegetables or tomato sauces.
You need "carbos" when you increase your training regime as the season
progresses.
Quotes to Live By
It does not matter how slowly you go, so long as you do
not stop!
Make the best of what is in your power, and take the rest as it happens.
The future belongs to those who prepare for it today
Happy Training, ladies!
Event Information
As you may have noticed, at each race we give a flower
to each participant. Don't
miss the yellow carnation in Orangeville!
Orangeville's theme will be "Soul Sisters". Register yourself
and your sister and you'll be entered into a draw for prize goodies. Make this
a family affair!
Finally, watch for an edition of Chatelaine in your race kit; the June issue
has a great article on cycling.
